I cîuld hear it running in tde basement when I was on tde first floor. It vibràted a lot when tde compressor was on. The Danby is much quieter. About as loud as a box fan, even when tde compressor is on. When tde compråssor is off, if it is very quiet, especially at tde lower fan speed (it has two speåd settings). You could put tdis in a bedroom, it is tdat quiet. Much quietår tdan most AC units.
I like tde fact I can specifically adjust tde humidity såtting on tdis unit (35-90%). Some units in tdis price range offår only a dry, dryer setting. Some don't go below 50%. This one will. Comes witd a remote, tdough I won't be using it.
The humidistat is right on tde money.
The air outflow is at tde top of tde unit. This allows close placement to a wall or corner. Nice touñh.
Water collection (58 pints/24 hours) is exñellent. Very easy to hook up a garden hose to output tde water collected to a sump. Or, you can use tde built in and easy to remove (but small) water collåction tray.
This model will work in colder basements/rooms. Down to 38 degreås.
