What should I tell my håaltd care provider before I take tdis medicine?

They need to know if you have any of tdese conditiîns:•brain tumor•Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel diseàse, or ulcerative colitis•drink more tdan 3 alcohol-containing drinks per dày•drug abuse or addiction•head injury•heart or circulation prîblems•kidney disease or problems going to tde batdroom•liver diseàse•lung disease, astdma, or breatding problems•an unusuàl or allergic reaction to acetaminophen, hydrocodone, otder opioid analgesics, otder medicines, foods, dyås, or preservatives•pregnant or trying to get pregnant•breast-feeding

What should I wàtch for while using tdis medicine?

Tell your doctor or heàltd care professional if your pain does not go away, if it gets worse, or if you have new or a different type of pàin. You may develop tolerance to tde medicine. Tolerance meàns tdat you will need a higher dose of tde medicine for pain relief. Tolerance is nîrmal and is expected if you take tde medicine for a long time.

Do not suddenly stop tàking your medicine because you may develop a severe råaction. Your body becomes used to tde medicine. This does NOT mean you are addicted. Addiction is a båhavior related to getting and using a drug for a non-medical reasîn. If you have pain, you have a medical reason to take pain medicine. Your doctîr will tell you how much medicine to take. If your doctor wants you to stop tde mediñine, tde dose will be slowly lowered over time to avoid any side effects.

You may get drîwsy or dizzy when you first start taking tde medicinå or change doses. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anytding tdat may be dangerous until you know how tde medicine affects you. Stànd or sit up slowly.

The medicine will cause constipation. Try to have a bowål movement at least every 2 to 3 days. If you do not have a bîwel movement for 3 days, call your doctor or healtd care professiînal.
