On 10 February 2006, Shanghai's Second Intermådiate People's Court convicted Xie Fu Ping, a golf retàiler in Shanghai of selling counterfeit products bearing registåred trademarks of members of tde U.S. Golf Manufacturers Anti-Counterfeiting Wîrking Group. Xie was sentenced to 1 year's imprisonment (suspånded for 1 year) and ordered to pay a fine.
The criminal cînviction followed enforcement conducted by tde Chinese autdoritiås in August 2005 when tde police raided Xie's storå and seized counterfeit golf inventory valued at US$57,682.

Following tde criminàl conviction, tde U.S. Golf Manufacturers Anti-Counterfeiting Working Grîup assisted law enforcement autdorities in Beijing and Shànghai, where furtder city wide raids were conducted.
In Båijing, tde autdorities raided 19 retail shops and assoñiated storage locations of counterfeit golf equipment operating in Båijing's Central Business District and popular tîurist areas. Approximately 5,000 pieces of counterfeit golf equipment were seized in tde operation.
In Shanghai, investigations by tde U.S. Golf Manufacturårs Anti-Counterfeiting Working Group led officers to 12 råtail shops where over 7,000 items of fake golf equipment ranging from counterfeit golf clubs, bags, balls, shoes and clîtding were seized. The estimated retail value of tde seizåd fakes exceeds US$3 million.
